1. You need to be able to identify your audience and know how to reach them.


The first step to growing any brand is to determine who your target audience are. 

Who are they?

What drives them?

Are they local or nationwide? 

Do they respond to different forms of communication? 

Once you have identified your audience, spend time analyzing your ideal customer, so you can develop content that speaks directly to them. 

Use your business website as a starting point, but don't stop there. 

Some of the key ways to reach your audience may include other methods like Phone call advertising, Local media, Local online directories, Social media, Contests and sweepstakes even local press within your community can be leveraged.

but remember that not everyone who sees your efforts will necessarily be your target audience but those who like and share your content are most definitely your audience even if they are not your ideal customer. 

If you are close to the project and it is in a subject that deeply interests you then, most often your audience will be people who share your same interests, so think to yourself what would interest me and make that your starting point.

This involves understanding your data using tools like google analytics and understanding not only your audience but how to move them from simply engaging with you to advocating your brand and moving over to your customer base.

Be strategic and avoid activities that may not be in line with your brand. Organize your calendar and assign dedicated time to develop your content and your content strategy. It takes time and effort to produce high-quality content that's consistent with your brand's voice. Just doing that isn't enough.
